Operation BBC, or: Bitches get shit done.
September 23, 2013
So, for those of you wondering - yes, Operation BBC is still going strong. In fact, I feel like just now we're starting to pick up some real momentum and we're beginning to go way beyond just a bunch of letters. We're making ripples in the pond, which is apparent by the articles popping up that muse about fans, networks, and interactivity.
Customer dissatisfaction: you're handling it wrong.

We've been called a lot of things since we started Operation BringBackCote. Officials (with one exception who was bordering on rude) mostly went for tame descriptions like "a little bit weird" or "maybe taking things a little too far".
This is a marathon, not a sprint.
August 18, 2013
I keep forgetting who first uttered that brilliant line about Operation BBC, but as I was looking up just what exactly a marathon means for my weekly pep talk, I stumbled across
that gave incredible advice on how to train for one. And to my great surprise, not just the individual tips for endurance could almost all directly be translated to our current situation, no, the whole opening paragraph struck a cord with me that can in its entirety be applied to our efforts:
Reminder, because it needs reminding

Gentlefolks, we are all upset about Cote leaving, I know that. For some of us, the show is completely sullied now (thankfully, I'm not one of those, at least not when it comes to the old episodes), and some of us feel the need to rant and scream and stomp their feet. Now here's the thing: do it. Do it all you want, if it makes you feel better... BUT NEVER DO IT IN PUBLIC.

“Oh, I am telling the truth. It’s only the facts I’m changing.” ~ The Middleman
Okay, listen up. Some things have changed since the last time we had a heart to heart about this. The promise of canon!Tiva, for instance, that is supposed to be "everything we ever wanted", which seems to be "well enough" for some, and so I suddenly see "at least they're not killing her off" all over the place and people seem content. Content with the promise of one episode that can at the most span a few weeks and is supposed to be the ultimate resolution to eight years of longing and want. A resolution that is supposedly good enough to make both the shippers and the haters happy.
Pep talk, round two
July 28, 2013
Over on Tumblr, someone replied to yesterday's post with something that sounded calm and reasonable at first, but ended up being yet another version of, "Ffs, just stop it!". So, I ended up getting long-winded again. And since a lot of you aren't on Tumblr, I'll bring this over here because this part of the pep talk concerns you guys as well.
Campfire a.k.a. your weekly peptalk roundup

I've seen many people despair today - due to the phrasing in PauleyP's tweets, due to tags in well-read blogs actively trying to discourage people now (yeah, thanks a lot for that *glares* ), due to the heat, due to other NCIS fans getting pissed off by Operation BBC and spewing hate and annoyance, due to the fact that we still haven't heard anything from CBS, due to... moon phases? Pollen? I dunno.

I've seen a lot of cool ideas and pictures so far but since they tend to get lost in the sea of notes, let's collect them here, to inspire folks, to get them pumped, for fast-n-easy ideas.

Apparently a lot of people switcherooed in their mood last night, after that unfortunate TV Guide interview that stated Cote wanted out the whole time. Which I don't believe for a heartbeat, because even a couple of weeks ago Mark and Gary were confident she'd be back. From several sparse reactions you can see that people are shocked and taken by surprise, and I refuse to believe that Cote would be the kind of gal who keeps her friends and co-workers in the dark about such a humongous decision.
Besides, it seems awfully convenient and well-timed: CBS gets overrun by a shitstorm of massive proportions and whoops, an "insider magazine" based on advertising money claims, see, she even says she wanted out herself. Which she hasn't yet.
Rule #3: Never believe what you're told. Double check.
Time to show some hardcore support for Cote

I mean it, folks. This is the one time you should get off your lazy asses. This one isn't just accomplished by reblogging a guilt-trip post or pressing a "like" button. This needs some serious action, and especially in this time and age, a (hand-)written letter says more than a thousand emails.
